Solid-State Storage for Efficient Operation
The X25-M uses flash memory for storage, giving you faster data access. Because it doesn't have spinning disks or writing heads, there are fewer parts to fail. It is less susceptible to vibration and runs silently. The X25-M is rated at 1.2 million hours mean time before failure.
The drive is designed for both notebook and desktop computers, and its 2.5-inch form factor will fit anywhere a regular 2.5-inch hard drive does. The X25-M also comes in 80 GB and 160 GB capacities.
Performs Faster with NAND Flash Memory
The X25-M drive's architecture uses ten parallel NAND flash channels equipped with 34 nm multi-level cell NAND flash memory. Native Command Queuing, which enables up to 32 simultaneous operations, helps the X25-M deliver sustained sequential read speeds of up to 250 MB/s, sustained sequential write speeds of up to 100 MB/s, and a read latency of 65 microseconds. Combined with the drive's SATA interface that offers data throughput of up to 3.0 Gb/s, this design means that applications launch quickly, files copy in less time, and overall computing power increases.
Optimize Performance with the Intel SSD Toolbox
Intel offers the Intel SSD Toolbox application with Intel SSD Optimizer to help you manage the health and performance of your drive. This set of management, information, and diagnostic tools includes Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology (SMART) commands. It is designed to run on Microsoft Windows 7 and is compatible with Microsoft Windows Vista and XP.
Easy Installation with Data Migration Software
Intel makes installing an SSD simple and painless by including necessary cables and providing a free software download for the Intel Data Migration Software. The Data Migration Software helps you migrate your data, applications, and operating system from your current drive to a new Intel Solid-State Drive with just a simple click. The Intel Data Migration Software supports Microsoft Windows 7, Vista, and XP.
Lower Power Consumption Reduces Environmental Impact
The X25-M consumes less power than traditional drives, which saves you money and makes this drive environmentally friendly. When installed in a laptop, the X25-M provides better battery life. The drive is certified RoHS compliant for its use of non-hazardous materials.
The X25-M is backed by a three-year limited warranty.
